Pilsner
All beers were dark or cloudy until 1842. At that time, using the lager method, a newly founded brewery in Pilsen, Bohemia (in today's Czech Republic), introduced a beer that was golden and clear. The original Pilsner beer today is called Pilsner Urquell, and is one of my favorites. Within the family of lagers, the Pilsner style is by far the most widely produced. Other good examples of Pilsner beers are Victory's Prima Pils and DeGroen's Pils brewed at the Baltimore Brewing Company. All these beers share a golden color, floweriness of aroma, and a crisp dry finish.
